Who am I ?
My name is Benoit Trudel and I am a 41 years old Canadian living and working overseas with my wonderful son, Rémi, who is now 6. Over the past few years I was lucky to live in Vietnam, Nepal and Burkina Faso as a volunteer for CECI, a Canadian NGO. We moved to Vietnam on December 5th 2008 to begin a 2 year contract as Chain Development Coordinator for a Belgian NGO. As a kid, I used to love looking at world atlas and somehow tried to imagine the places and people. As an adult, I get to do this and discover the world. How cool is that? Our life overseas is very challenging but also rich with unique experiences that shape who we are. I carry in my heart people and places that inevitably have a great impact on my life. And now I am glad to share this journey with my son Rémi, and our dog Roxy. So come with us and see the world...

Comme vous le savez peut-être déjà, avant de quitter le Canada pour venir au Burkina Faso, je voulais trouver un petit projet à appuyer de manière personnelle. Et bien, l'opportunité s'est présenté au Centre Carmen Kisito où Rémi allait à la garderie. Les soeurs religieuses font un bon travail d'accueil pour filles-mères et veulent les outiller avec des formations techniques afin qu'elles puissent retourner dans leur milieu familial et gagner leur vie. C'est donc avec fierté et un grand plaisir que j'ai décidé des les aider à offrir une formation en savonnerie à ces braves femmes en espérant que cela aura un impact positif sur leur vie. J'ai cherché à embarquer autant d'amis et de membres de ma famille que possible dans cette belle aventure et la levée de fonds fut un grand succès. Adoption in Vietnam
The adoption of my son Rémi was a crazy dream that came to reality. And each day, I am reminded of how lucky I am to have him in my life.
